An der st\u00fcrmischen Nordseite der Halbinsel befinden sich 2 gro\u00dfe, unter Naturschutz stehende Str\u00e4nde, die Playa de Cofete und die Playa de Barlovento, die nur durch die Felsklippe El Islote voneinander getrennt werden. \u00dcber eine L\u00e4nge von rund 10 km und einer durchschnittlichen Breite von 60 m erstreckt sich hier eine einzigartige, unber\u00fchrte Strandlandschaft. Die Str\u00e4nde liegen auf der LUV Seite, der dem Wind zugewandten Seite der Halbinsel Jandia. Der Nordost Passat weht ungest\u00fcm und die westliche Brandung, die oft weit entfernt vor Nordamerika entsteht, bricht sich donnernd am Strand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Auf der einen Seite, im Westen, erstreckt sich der wilde Atlantik, im Osten ragt eine 800 Meter hohe Bergkette auf. Die Bergkette ist Teil eines m\u00e4chtigen alten Vulkankraters.
